Special TV programmes on Pahela Baishakh

Channel i
Apart from airing Chhayanaut’s New Year celebration live from Ramna Batomul at 6am and Baishakhi festival from Bakultola, Charukola at 9:30, Channel i will air live for the first time Grameenphone-Channel i Baishakhi Fair from Channel i Tejgaon office at 10am. This will be followed by premiering Impress Telefilm’s film “Nijhum Oronye” at 2:30pm. Written and directed by Mahbub Jamil and Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar respectively, the cast of the film on Liberation War is Abul Hayat, Ilias Kanchan, Champa, Sajal, Badhon and others.
“Krishoker Baishakhi Ananda”
A unique game show “Krishoker Baishakhi Ananda” will be aired on Channel i on Pahela Baishakh (April 14) at 11:30 pm.
Celebration of Pahela Baishakh is inseparable from Bengali identity. This is one rural festival that has become enormously big in the cities, especially in Dhaka. But celebrations in the villages, however, are seemingly losing their glory due to harsh poverty. One such village is Chawk Shimla — tucked in a remote area in Naogaon. This village enjoys virtually no amenity. Burdened by immense frustrations, people of this village have often chosen suicide.
Krishoker Baishakhi Ananda” brings to light stories from this village and through fun and games has tried to offer them some respite from their daily woes.
Planned, anchored and directed by eminent media personality Shykh Siraj, the show will be re-aired on April 15 at 3:05 pm.
ATN Bangla
Aside from airing live programme of “Bangla Borshoboron Utshab” from Chittagong DC Hill Park, ATN Bangla will telecast daylong programmes on Boishakh. Written and directed by Giasuddin Selim, popular Bangla film Monpura will be aired on 2:40. The cast of the film is Mamunur Rashid, Chanchal Chowdhuruy, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Farhana Mili, Dilara Jaman and others.
Special Magazine “Pa(n)chphoron”
Fagun Audio Vision produced special magazine “Pa(n)chphoron that will be aired on Pohela Boishakh at 9:20pm. Apart from Anisur Rahman Milon, Momo, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Tania Ahmed, a number of stars will participate in many humorous events of the programme.

Musical programme “Kajol Matir Shur”
Musical programme “Kajol Matir Shur” will be aired on ntv at 11:30pm. Produced by Hasan Yusuf Khan, the musical will feature traditional songs rendered by contemporary singers.
With traditional instruments such as dhol, mandira, ektara, dotara and flute, Baul singers Fakir Shahbuddin and Razzaque Baul as well as folk singers Kazi Krishnokoli Islam and Arup Rahi will render songs at the programme.
The programme will feature a diverse range of traditional songs including songs of Fakir Lalon Shai, Ukil Munshi, Radharamon Dutta, Shah Abdul Karim, Hason Raja and Rabindra Sangeet.
Desh TV
“Bashuria Bajao Banshi”
Musical programme “Bashuria Bajao Banshi” will be aired on Desh TV at 11:45pm. The programme will feature solo performance of legendary flutist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
