Italy is holding its first divorce fair, to help couples facing marriage break-ups.
Organizers of Italy’s first divorce fair said unhappily married Italians in attendance will be given advice to smooth their transitions to single status again.
Franco Zanetti, an organizer of the Turning a New Leaf conference Saturday and Sunday in Milan, said attendees will receive “serious, practical advice for often dramatic situations” related to splitting with their partners, The Daily Telegraph of Britain reported on 06 May 2010.
He said experts speaking at the fair will give advice on hiring private investigators to confirm suspicions, getting rid of ex-spouses who turn into stalkers and preparing for living alone and rejoining the dating scene.
Italy’s national statistics agency, said more than 130,000 couples divorced in the overwhelmingly Catholic country in 2007, up from 30,000 in 1971.
