Shakib Al Hasan picked up three wickets as Northamptonshire made slow progress in their County Championship Division Two match against Worcestershire at the County Ground in Northampton yesterday.
The hosts were 308 for eight after tea in their first innings on the third day after the second day’s play was completely washed out due to persistent rain. The first day was also badly hampered with 34.5 overs of cricket possible.
Shakib Al Hasan took the wickets of Stephen Peters, Andrew Hall and James Middlebrook with the last two wickets breaking a crucial stand.
Paceman Alan Richardson was the star of the innings, taking three for 67 while Jack Shantry and Gareth Andrew.
