The Meizan National Women’s Kabaddi Competition begins today at the Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex. Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation will arrange the three-day long kabaddi meet under auspices of Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited.
Marking the ensuing kabaddi meet, a press conference was held at the Kabaddi Stadium on Thursday.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) AKM Mofizur Rahman, Vice-President of BKF and Chairman of the Tournament Committee KM Akhter Hamid, General Secretary of the federation Munir Hossain, Marketing Manager of Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited (BEOL) Faria Yasmin and Assistant Brand Manager of BEOL Farzanul Haque were present at the conference, among others.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk three lakh and fifty thousand.
A total of 12 teams splitting into four groups will take part in the forthcoming kabaddi competition for women. Bangladesh Ansar, Kurigram District, Narail District are in Group A, Tangail District, Rangamati District, Magura District are in Group B, BJMC, Jamalpur District, Satkhira District are in Group C and Rajshahi District, Faridpur District, Gazipur District are in Group D.
Top one team from each group will play in the semi-final. The winners of the semi-finals will get tickets of the final. The final will be held on September 19.
