First digital satellite television channel in Bangla, Channel i, enters its 12th year of operation today.
President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition leader of the parliament Khaleda Zia and Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad in separate speech wished Channel i.
On the occasion, the private channel will air some special programmes, including drama and talk show.
To celebrate its 12th birth anniversary, the channel has been holding a nine-day programme from September 23 throughout the city.
A reunion programme will be held today at the premises of Channel i at its office at 40, Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Swarani, Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Channel i started its operation on October 01, 1999, says a press release.
