Five young men were killed in separate incidents in the city’s different parts and Savar yesterday.
In an incident, unidentified miscreants stabbed Alamgir Hossain, 25, an alleged drug addict and security guard Bulbul, 30, to death behind Savar Municipal market around 3:00am.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Alamgir’s wife Rani Begum filed a murder case with the Savar Police Station in this connection.
OC of the police station Mahbubur Rahman told The Daily Star that three persons were picked up for interrogation.
He said an investigation is going on to unearth the identities of the killers and their motive.
In South Keraniganj, police yesterday morning recovered the body of an unidentified youth wearing a jean pant and a red shirt from a wetland.
In another incident, police also recovered the body of another youth in the morning from under the sand in the area. Locals saw the head of the body in the sand and informed police of the matter.
OC of the South Keraniganj Police Station Abul Bashar told The Daily Star that they suspected that unidentified miscreants might killed the two victims elsewhere and dumped their bodies there some time on Saturday night. The bodies bore some marks of injuries.
Yet another incident, Darus Salam police recovered the body of a young man from inside Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard yesterday morning.
There was mark of injuries inflicted by blunt weapons behind his head.
