A government official was crushed to death under the wheels of a speeding microbus in the capital’s Agargaon early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Assistant Chief Agriculture Marketing Officer Humayun Kabir, 43.
Reaz Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Police Station, said a microbus ran over Humayun Kabir rear-ending him while he was having a morning walk on Agargaon Notun Rasta near his residence around 6:30am.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:30am.
The driver fled with his vehicle immediately after the accident.
A case was filed with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in this connection.
