Work at Rajshahi speedy trial tribunal has remained suspended for last three days after the judge was transferred from here to Munshiganj.
Lawyers and justice seekers of Rajshahi demanded appointment of a new judge for the tribunal to ease the people’s sufferings.
According to sources, the judge of Rajshahi speedy trial tribunal was transferred to Munshiganj on November 8.
The sources said six cases – four of them murder cases, one rape and murder case and the other relating to violence against women – were under trial at the speedy trial court and judgments in six other cases have been stayed by the High Court.
Local lawyers told New Age a judge should be appointed without further delay as the court was dealing with some serious criminal cases.
