Police yesterday arrested four bike-riding youths from Dhaka University campus for harassing a number of female students of the university.
The arrestees were identified as Sohan, Ripon, Sonny and Tareq of Old Dhaka.
Witnesses said the youths riding on three motorbikes behaved “indecently” with a group of female students of Shamsunnahar Hall around 7:45pm.
Police also seized their motorbikes.
Witnesses said the bikers were constantly honking their horns surrounding the female students and uttering slang.
At this, a group of male students chased the bikers and caught them near Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), said a student.
Angry DU students then beat up the youths before handing them over to Shahbagh police.
