A man was killed allegedly by his wife and her lover at village Panchnal of Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira on Sunday night.
The deceased was Nur Mohammad, 42, son of Abdul Khaleque of the village Panchnol.
The police and local people said the killing incident was a sequel to quarrel between Nur Mohammad and his wife Shapla Begum as she had a love affair with Kabir Hossain, son of Amir Ali of the village.
As Nur Mohammad tried to resist them they threatened him to face dire consequences, the sources said.
While the victim was asleep in his room, Shapla and her lover Kabir Hossain strangled him at dead of night on Sunday, the locals said.
Being informed by local people, the police went to the spot and sent the body to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The police arrested Shapla Begum but failed to arrest Kabir Hossain as he went into hiding soon after the incident.
