Channel-i will arrange a daylong film fair styled ‘Cute-Channel-i Chalachchitra Mela’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on December 19 to mark the 55th anniversary of the release of first Bangla talkie, Mukh O Mukhosh, said a press release on Monday.
It said the organisers will honour renowned actress Anowara with lifetime achievement award for her contribution to the film industry.
Special honour will be show to celebrated actors Uzzal, Faruk, Sohel Rana and Alamgir, prominent director Chashi Nazrul Islam, singer Fedousi Rahman and Sayeed Abdul Hadi in the festival.
A total of sixteen stalls will be set up on the fair premises. The artistes will perform popular playback songs, dance pieces and acting from different films on the stage, anchored by actor Riaz, singer Akhi Alamgir and actress Mukti.
A documentary on the eventful happenings of the film industry will also be screened on the occasion.
A photography exhibition displaying images of the late artistes will be organised at the fair.
Channel-i will telecast the programme live from 11:05 to 5:30pm, the release added.
