Owner of a chemical shop in city’s Kadamtali area allegedly killed the shop’s manager yesterday.
Atiqur Rahman Mamun, 24, worked as the manager of Mita Chemicals at Shyampur in the city.
Mamun’s brother Bashir Ahmed told The Daily Star that the shop owner and his men took Mamun to Kadamtali where piling work of the owner’s under construction house was going on.
Bashir said the shop owner killed Mamun by hitting him on the head with a piling bar and later publicised that Mamun died when a piling pipe fell on him.
Mamun has been trying to open a business for the last three years but the shop owner did not agree, he added.
Officer-in-Charge Kazi Ayubur Rahman of Kadamtali Police Station told this correspondent that police went to the scene.
The owner of the chemical shop told police the same and they are investigating into the cause of the death, he added.
