At least seven people were killed and 11 others injured in separate road accidents in Bogra, Laxmipur and Dinajpur yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Bogra reports: Four people were killed and eight injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van on the Bogra-Rangpur Highway in Bogra Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
Three of the deceased were identified as Aminul Islam Dolon, 25, of Shibganj upazila, Saju Miah, 20, of Gabtoli upazila and Sawpan, 20, of Sonatola upazila of the district while the identity of another victim, a woman, could not be known immediately.
The accident took place at about 8:30am when a Sonatola-bound bus collided with a Bogra-bound covered van in Kholarghar area.
Aminul died on the spot while the two succumbed to their injuries at Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital and the woman died on her way to the hospital.
The injured were also admitted to the same hospital.
UNB from Laxmipur adds: Two people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a CNG-run
auto-rickshaw on Laxmipur-Barisal road at Moju Chowdhury Bazar in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased are Hanif, 45, and Ibrahim, 35, hailed from Bhola district.
Witnesses said the accident occurred at about 7:00am when the Laxmipur-bound pickup van collided with the auto rickshaw coming from opposite direction, leaving the duo dead on the spot and three others injured.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
The injured were admitted to the same hospital.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur says: A man was killed in a road accident in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Md Badiuzzaman, 32, son of Delwar Hossain village Bhogdoma of Birganj upazila of Dinajpur.
Police sent the body to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
