3 killed in bus-truck collision in city

At least three people were killed and 15 injured when a truck collided with a bus at Bijoy Sarani in the Dhaka city early Sunday.
One of the deceased, identified as Mohammad Chayan, 27, was the owner of a grocery shop at Bhutergali in the city. He was returning home from bishwa ijtema and was to attend the akheri munajat later on the day, family members said. The identity of the two other deceased could not be known.
Police said a truck, laden with stone, hit the Farmgate-bound bus from Mirpur at the Bijoy Sarani crossing at about 3:00am, leaving the three dead on the spot.
The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals.
Police seized both the vehicles but the drivers managed to escape.
