A youth beat his teenage sister to death at Baro Kumira in Sitakunda yesterday, as she had love affair with a neighbouring boy.
Sources said Nur Nahar, 18, the deceased, was in love with Rubel, 22.
Her elder brother Jainal Abedin alias Kala Miah, 25, on Thursday morning started beating the two after they denied any relation. A day earlier, Kala found Nahar and Rubel in an intimate position in the evening.
Nahar died on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) from Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex. With serious injury Rubel is under treatment at CMCH.
The deceased’s father Nurul Absar filed a case with Sitakunda Police Station under section 302 accusing his son Jainal Abedin for killing Nahar.
Sub-inspector (SI) Sheikh Abdur Sabur said the body was sent to CMCH morgue for postmortem.
