Prime Doleshwar registered their first win in the Dhaka Premier League when they shocked Kalabagan KC by four wickets at the Fatullah stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh Biman took a giant leap towards Super League after eking out a 12-run win over Orient SC in another match at the BKSP.
Kalabagan v Prime Doleshwar
Kalabagan were all out for 194 runs in 45 overs despite an unbeaten 89 off 106 balls from their Pakistani recruit Wazed Ali.
Ali gave their innings some decency after they were stuttering at 52-5 at one stage. Mohammad Sharif was the only other player to reach double figure with 39.
Doleshwar were also under pressure losing four wickets for 67 runs before Pakistani Qaiser Abbas played an unbeaten innings of 49 off 40 balls to lead them to 195-6.
Biman v Orient SC
Last year’s runners-up Biman, who had no choice but to win if they are to keep their Super League hopes alive, were boosted by an 87-run innings from their in-form batsman Mushfiur Rahim to end their 50 overs on 238-8.
Orient were punished for their slow start as they needed 73 runs in the last five overs but could manage only 60 runs which resulted in their narrow defeat. Ehsanul Haque and Minhaz Reza remained unbeaten on 52 and 46 runs respectively.
