Commerce Minister Lt Col (retd) Faruk Khan yesterday said the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would visit Saudi Arabia shortly to sign an agreement aiming to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.
Faruk Khan disclosed this while talking to the waiting reporters after a bilateral meeting with a Saudi business delegation at his office.
He said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will go to Saudi Arabia within a few days, when she will discuss with the Saudi government the issue of the agreement to enhance trade between the two countries.” Ministry source said the prevailing few obstacles would be removed after striking the agreement to increase trade between two countries.
Source also said the minister requested them to import Bangladeshi products like garments, pharmaceutical products, leather items or vegetables and to invest more in Bangladesh.
Hamad Al -shabaan, Chairman of AL-Shabaan group of the, led the 10-members team.
He assured that the Saudi government has a positive approach to the Bangladeshi people, as historically the peoples of the two Muslim countries have a close relationship.
He also hoped that the new government led by Sheikh Hasina would be able to build Bangladesh as a prosperous country.
