Siddikur Rahman made an amazing comeback on the fourth and final day to finish runner-up in the American Express Bangladesh Open Golf Championship at the Kurmitola Golf Club on Saturday.
Siddik hit six birdies to take his cumulative score to 12 under par after the final round and climbed to the second position on the leaderboard and was able to scoop Tk 2, 23,300.
His remarkable turnaround was mainly possible because of his bogey-free day to finish with a score of (71, 68, 71, 66) with 276 shots.
India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar became champion with 14 under par with 274 shots.
Mohammad Sayum finished sixth with four
under par and won a purse of Tk 71,300. Amateur golfer Mohammad Zakiruzzaman was tied with three others in seventh place under par (-3) and chose to remain an amateur and so he did not receive any prize money.
