Popular Canadian singer Bryan Adams will perform in the inaugural ceremony of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on February 17 in the city.
According to Adam’s personal website, he will be staying in Dhaka on February 17 and 18.
The singer’s two-day visit to the Bangladesh capital follows a six-day tour in India to promote his recently released album, Bare Bones. His India tour begins Friday from Pune.
Although the gala opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup will be held on February 17, the matches are scheduled for February 19 to April 2, with 14 countries competing for the trophy in 49 matches spread across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Adams will also perform in a special acoustic concert on February 18 in Dhaka featuring songs from Bare Bones, before heading for the finishing leg of the South Asia tour in Kathmandu.
Sixty-five million copies of his albums have been sold so far and the artiste has produced 21 top-10 hits and earned eight Academy Awards and Golden Globe nominations.
