The Power Development Board would supply an additional 1,000MW of power to the national grid by June from rental power plants.
Referring to the development in the implementation of rental power projects, the board chairman ASM Alamgir Kabir, told New Age that they were expecting 1000MW of additional power supply to the national grid by June.
‘Another 1000MW of power from the public and the private sector will be added to the national grid by December this year,’ he said.
Officials concerned at a meeting on the progress in rental power plants with the power sector entrepreneurs presided over by the power secretary, Abul Kalam Azad, at Bidyut Bhaban reviewed the developments of all the projects, officials said.
He said that some rental projects might miss the deadline for commission.
The power secretary pressed the entrepreneurs concerned so that they could supply power to the national grid in time, he said.
He said that the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation was ready to supply diesel and furnace oil to the power plants.
