Ruet-ASC Students Clash
Over 400 students sued
Over 400 students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) have been sued on charges of vandalism and arson attack on Agrani School and College (ASC) during Wednesday’s clash on Ruet campus.
Police said ASC Principal Tohura Akter Khatun filed the case with Motihar Police Station on Wednesday night.
At least 25 people were injured in a clash between the students of Ruet and ASC which is located inside Ruet complex. Ruet also was declared closed for indefinite period.
Ruet VC Prof Shirajul Karim said they formed a committee to investigate into the incident and met local leaders and the college authorities in this regard.
The clash ensued when some Ruet students protested the college’s Bangladesh Chhatra League unit President Hasan sitting on Ruet Shaheed Minar wearing shoes.
