Only 1,722 to be appointed now
A total of 5,062 examinees have passed the 29th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations. The Public Service Commission published the result yesterday.
Of the total, PSC has recommended 1,722 candidates for recruitment in different cadres due to shortage of vacant posts.
Around 1.23 lakh applicants sat the preliminary exams, vying for 1,581 posts. Of them, 13,536 qualified for the written test of which 7,217 came out successful.
Among the successful candidates, 6,523 took part in the viva voce and 5,062 passed the test. However, results of 48 candidates have been kept suspended.
