Three books on Bangabandhu reintroduced

The Islamic Foundation has reintroduced three books on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The books–Jatir Janak Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mohan Neta Bangabandhu and Hridoy Jure Bangabandhu — were banned by the past four-party alliance government, a press release of the foundation said here yesterday.
It said the books edited by Dr Shahadat Hossain, Nasrin Mustafa and Khaleq Bin Joyen Uddin respectively were withdrawn from all libraries of Islamic Foundation through a letter on March 29, 2003.
The decision to reintroduce the books was taken at the monthly coordination meeting of the foundation on Monday.
It also decided to publish research books and biographies related to Islami Tahzeeb-Tamuddin of Bangabandhu.
The meeting was told that Bangabandhu had established Islamic Foundation for propagation and expansion of the holy religion Islam through an ordinance on March 28, 1975.
It was possible on the part of a devout Muslim and courageous personality like Bangabandhu to establish such an organisation at that time with government fund, the press release said.
Bangabandhu’s love for Islam, political wisdom, ideology, farsightedness, patriotism and human feelings were flourished and bloomed like polestar in the history of Bengali nation.
Writers and intellectuals have been requested to submit scripts on the life and works of Bangabandhu to the publication department of Islamic Foundation, it said.
