Bangladeshi bowlers showed a controlled aggression to check Karnataka State Cricket Association XI batsmen on the first day of the third four-dayer match in the Shafi Darashah Invitational Tournament at Alur, Bangalore on Monday. Enamul Haque Junior scalped four wickets as Karnataka put up 256 for seven before the bails were drawn on day one. Number six batsman Gautham held the innings together from a hopeless condition for the local side with hitting an unbeaten 57 runs knock and will be the man to progress the innings on second day.
Bangladesh A bowlers started quite convincingly having removed opener Samarth on naught thanks to paceman Shahadat Rajib. The bowlers afterwards stuck to their task picking up wickets at regular interval that prevented the local side from building any significant partnership. The late order however led by Gautham gave Bangladeshi bowlers a torrid time until Enamul got rid of Rajoo Bhatkal, the number seven batsman who made 49 runs. But they could not stop Gautham who made unbeaten 57 off 115 with two fours.
Enamul Junior claimed four for 103 while Rajib and Rabiul Islam picked up one wicket apiece.
