Bangladesh ‘A’ team Spinners continued their annihilation on the last day of their four-day match against the West Indies High Performance unit to propel the host to a 52-run victory at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.
The left-arm duo, Saqlain Sajib and Enamul Haque Jr, shared eight wickets between them as the visitors were bowled out for 186 runs in the second innings, chasing 249 runs for a win.
The Windies side began the day knowing that a defeat was round the corner and Enamul made it evident when he picked up the first wicket of the day after the visitors had added 39 runs to their overnight score of 120-6.
Coming in at number eight, Jahmar Hamilton fought a lone battle from one end as he remained unbeaten on 47 from 69 balls but saw his partners make a beehive towards the pavilion and his side being shot out in 57.4 overs.
Saqlain, who resumed the day hoping to pick up a wicket to complete his five-for, claimed the last wicket to complete the win after Enamul had claimed the first three wickets of the day, taking his match tally to 10 wickets.
Saqlain finished with figures of 5-61, while Enamul complemented him with 3-73. Shahadat Hossain and Naeem Islam also grabbed a wicket each. Enamul was later adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling. Earlier, Bangladesh ‘A’ made 199 and 186 runs in their first and second innings respectively, while the visitors scored 146 in their first innings.
