Leaders of Imarat Nirman Sramik Union, a rights body of the construction workers, on Tuesday at press conference called on the opposition political parties to refrain from
calling general strike or other such violent programmes.
Mohammad Abdur Razzak, general secretary of the organization, at a press conference at its office on Topkhana Road said the INSUB would hold its national representatives conference in the capital on April 19 where representatives from districts and upazilas from across the country would take part.
He called on the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and other parties to refrain from calling hartal or other
agitation programmes in April 18, 19 and 20, so that it could held its programme without any obstacles.
The construction workers were suffering much for the frequent hartals which hampered construction work, Razzak said.
Executive president of INSUB Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Babul, vice-president Abul Kashem, Humayun Kabir and organising secretary Mohammad Ali Hossain were present at the press conference.
