The first day of the second four-day match between Bangladesh Under 19 and Sri Lanka Under 19 was washed due to rain at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium on Tuesday.
The Sri Lankan Under 19 team, who opted to bat first after winning the toss, were batting on 23 for no loss after 5.2 overs with skipper Kusal Mendis remaining unbeaten on 16 runs when incessant rain interrupted play to prompt the umpires to take off the bails and call off the day’s play.
Hashan Dumindu was the other unbeaten batsman at the crease on five in a day where about 85 overs of play was lost due to the increment weather.
The first four-day game between the two teams earlier ended in a draw.
