Public representatives, parents, civil society, community and media should work
together for preventing sexual harassment, said the speakers at a view sharing meeting in Rajshahi on Thursday.
The view-sharing meeting styled ‘Raise voice to eliminate sexual harassment against schoolgirls’ was held at Government Laboratory High School in the city.
BRAC Meyeder Janya Nirapad Nagarikatwa project organised the programme under its Gender Justice and Diversity project to formulate a set of recommendations on how to expedite the work for combating sexual harassment against the girl students.
During their presentations, Sayeeda Sogra and Kaosar Been Latif, sector specialists of BRAC Mejnin, narrated the aspects of collaborative work on the issue.
Some documentary films were also screened on the occasion.
Ward councillor of Rajshahi City Corporation Abdul Hamid, headmaster of Laboratory School Mustak Habib and assistant headmaster Sharmin Sultana spoke on the occasion, among others.
