Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday thanked the main opposition party BNP for withdrawal of their strike in Dhaka district and Dhaka metro area after a multi-storied building collapsed at Savar bus stand on the outskirts of the capital on Wednesday morning. “I thank the opposition party
for lifting their strike in Dhaka. The rescue operation can continue and relatives of the victim can easily communicate following the strike withdrawal,” she said.
Hasina said, the rescue operation was facing difficulties as the opposition enforced a country-wide 36 hours hartal from Tuesday.
She conveyed the thanks at the beginning of her question-answer session in Parliament.
