The Bangladesh Under-19 team went down by six wickets as per the Duckworth/Lewis method against their Sri Lankan counterparts in the fourth and penultimate
youth one-day international at Mirpur on Saturday.
Ahead of the final one-dayer of the five-match series scheduled to be held on Monday, the Sri Lankan Under-19 team levelled the series 2-2.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Bangladesh Under-19 team posted 244-8 in 47.4 overs when rain halted play. Joyraj Sheik Emon was the highest scorer with 58 runs from 84 balls while skipper Mosaddek Hossain chipped in with 47 from 49 deliveries.
Ramesh Mendis scalped 5-40 and the Sri Lanka Under-19 side were set a revised target of 197 in 29 overs. The hosts were unable to stem the flow of runs as the visitors romped to 200-4 in just 22.1 overs with 6.5 overs to spare.
Chamika Karunaratna made 49 from 47 balls while Sandun Weerakkody scored a whirlwind 16-ball 42, with the aid of half a dozen fours and two sixes.
Ramesh was named man of the match.
