Artistes of Gitomalika presented some evergreen Tagore songs on Friday at the Chhayanaut Auditorium in Dhanmondi.
The selection of some unique songs having wonderful l
yrics and tune made the show to be remembered.
The event began with a chorus presentation of popular Tagore song Pran-er manush achh-e pran-e. The houseful audience enjoyed the soulful presentation of the mystic song.
The chorus also rendered another popular song Tora jey ja bolish bhai.
The audience in a pin drop silence enjoyed the duet presentation of the melodious song Oi maloti lotar doley by Sakhawat Hossain and Sabiha Rabbi Sima.
Gitomalika artistes also proved their skill while presenting Tagore songs in solos.
Lutfur Rahman Joardar’s rendition of Tomar pujor chholey and Shahidul Haque Smarto’s presentation of Aj gadhuli lagoney badalo gagoney received audience acclaims. Smarto sang another sentimental song titled Jete jete ekla pathe.
Tazim Sultana and Sakhawat Hossain respectively presented romantic song Path diye ke jay go chole and mystic song Tomar ashim-e pranmon loye.
Mizanur Rahman Taslim entertained the audience rendering Tagore’s one of the most popular romantic songs Majhe majher tabo dekha pai.
Taslim’s presentation of the sentimental song Tumi kon bhangoner pothe ele was also enjoyable.
A good number of audience enjoyed the programme featuring some popular songs. . ‘Tagore songs are always charming. When these songs are presented aptly, the feelings cannot be expressed in words. I got such a unique feeling this evening,’ Sudipta Das, a government service holder, said.
