Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Friday urged both the owners and workers to remain alert so that no one can create anarchy in the readymade garment (RMG) sector. “Discipline will also have to be maintained in all factories including the RMG factories,” she said at a discussion meeting at the Jatiya Press Club, which was arranged by Bangladesh Garment Sramik Oikya Parishad marking the May Day. Dipu Moni said the interest of both the owners and workers are interlinked and the government is determined to resolve the crisis in all factories giving priority to workers rights. She said the government would amend the labour law keeping in view the interest of workers. Speaking on the occasion, Coordinator of Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SKOP) Wajedul Islam demanded Tk 8,000 as minimum monthly wages for the workers instead of the existing Tk 3,000.
