Distinguished singer of the country Sabina Yasmin’s first solo
Tagore album has been released this Friday.
The launch took place at the eighth Rabindra mela arranged
by Private TV channel Channel i.
Under the banner of Impress Audio Vision Ltd, the album titled Ami sandhyadiper shikha contains 10 timeless songs of Tagore including Amar ei path chawatei ananda, Badolo diner prothom kadom phool, Mayabano biharini, Tumi khushi thako.
Executives of Channel i and other prominent personalities were present during the album release.
Sabina Yasmin rose to fame through the success of her patriotic and playback numbers. In 1995, she had released a duet
Tagore album Hridoye lage dola with another famous Tagore singer Tapan Mahmud.
Yasmin told New Age, ‘Tagore’s songs have been my companion since childhood. I always had the wish to present a solo album of Tagore songs. I am happy that I have been able to do it at last.’
She also hoped that music lovers will like the album.
Kolkata-based music director Rocket Mondol oversaw the directorial part and Jahangir Sayeed did the overall coordination for the album.
