THE Bangladesh Nationalist Party-backed mayoral candidate for Rajshahi city corporation election feared use to black money during the upcoming election by the ruling Awami League-backed candidate.
He expressed this concern while exchanging views with
newsmen at Rajshahi Press Club on Monday noon.Quoting from affidavit of Khairuzzaman Liton, Bulbul said former mayor Liton acquired lots of black money. `I am sure; Liton will spread this money among the voters during election’, he added.
Bulbul claimed that Liton failed to keep his electoral pledges that he had given before the election of 2008. Bulul said Liton just continued the development work of some projects that were taken during the tenure of BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu.
Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul also claimed that in 2008’s election Khairuzzaman Liton beat him by meddling vote in association with the administration of `corrupt’ caretaker government.
He informed that on 28 May he will bring his electoral manifesto and now some wise-persons of Rajshahi are drafting the manifesto.
Senior newsperson of Rajshhai, local BNP leaders were present.
When contacted, outgoing mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said that BNP backed candidate Mosaddek Hossain has given off beam information to the newsmen.
