Northern Theatre, a Northern University based theatre troupe, has organised an eight-day studio theatre festival, which will begin today at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The festival will feature eight plays including Kinu Kaharer Theatre by Pracchyanaut, Che-er Cycle by Bangla Theatre, Chitrangada by Swapnadal, Dur Ghotona by BUET Drama Society, Putro and Mukti by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Waiting For Godo and Krishna Shokun by Northern Theatre, said a press release.
The artistes of Northern Theatre will perform music and dance on the festival days at 5:00pm, right before staging of the plays.
The artistes will also present cultural traditions of the seven divisions of Bangladesh at the festival preceding the theatre segment each day.
Northern Theatre was formed in 2008 with a view to change the society for betterment through theatre movement. The festival is also a part of the endeavour by the troupe in line with its objective, also added the release.
