Two people including a woman died in road accidents in the city on Friday.
At Phulbaria, a bus driver was killed when a truck ran over him when crossing the road early Friday.
The deceased, Golap Mian, 30, a drive of a Suprvat Paribahan, was from Jaipurhat and lived at Bongram in the city’s Wari area.A bus assistant, Liton, said a speedy good-laden truck ran over Golap when he was crossing the road after parking the bus on roadside at Phulbaria bus about 1:30am.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead at about 2:30am.
At Mirpur, a woman died after she was badly hit by a bus Thusday night.
The deceased, Hazera Begum, 35, was from Betagi Barguna.
The victims’ husband, Shahid Alam, said Hazera sustained severe injuries after a bus hit her from behind at Nobaberpara under Sha Ali police station at about 8:00pm on Thursday.
She was rushed to DMCH where doctors declared her dead at about 2:30am on Friday.
