A college student was killed early Sunday at
Alkaran under Sadarghat police station in Chittagong.
The deceased was identified as Rintu Ghosh, 25, a second year student of Gachbaria Government College under Chandanaish upazila in the district, and son of Adhir Ghosh of Dobash Colony.
Officer-in-charge of the Sadarghat police station Pranab Chowdhury said several youths called Rintu out of his business enterprise, Sonia Pharmacy, at around 11:45pm and hit on his knack with sharp weapon.
Locals rescued Rintu and rushed him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at around 12:30am.
