Banned senior umpire Nadir Shah said on Monday that he is expected to appeal to the Bangladesh Cricket Board president soon to minimize his punishment after
receiving his expulsion letter from the BCB recently.
Nadir Shah lost his retainership for 10 years on March 18 after the BCB had conducted a detailed inquiry into allegations of corruption brought on by satellite television channel India TV against match officials during the month of October last year.
The investigation was conducted by a special committee which recently submitted its findings and recommendations to the BCB.
Despite receiving the decision, Nadir could not file any formal request to the board because he
was not provided with the letter of suspension by the BCB.
‘I am hopeful that the BCB president [Nazmul Hasan] will consider my plea,’ said Nadir.
‘I have received my suspension letter and I am now preparing the letter accordingly,’ said Nadir, who made a surprise visit to the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
