angladesh Olympic Association will organise Olympic Day Run, a global programme of International Olympic Committee , in the capital as well as all
the divisional and district headquarters on Saturday.
The BOA has chalked out a two-day program in the capital on June 22-23 to observe the founding anniversary of the IOC and also to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Pierre De Coubertin, the pioneer of modern Olympics.
The program includes Olympic Day Run-2013, sports competitions for juveniles and persons with disability, painting competition, body building and wresting competitions, and seminar and discussion on Pierre De Coubertin and the Olympic movement.
The main attraction of the two-day program, Olympic Day Run-2013, will begin at 6:30 am on Saturday from Ramna National Tennis Complex and terminate at the Bangabandhu National Stadium after passing through Matsya Bhaban, Kodom Foara, Shikkha Bhaban, Secretariat and GPO.
Chairman of the Olympic Day Organising Committee Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun disclosed the programme details at a press conference at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of BOA Bhaban on Thursday. BOA acting Secretary General Ashiqur Rahman Miku, BOA Media Committee chairman Mizanur Rahman Manu and secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, and representative of the programme’s main sponsor Coca-Cola Rozina Akhter Khanam also spoke on the occasion.
