Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology formally approved the annual budget of Tk 91,33,50,000 for the fiscal year 2013-14, a BUET press release said on Tuesday.
The syndicate members on Sunday approved the budget in a meeting on, chaired by the university vice-chancellor, Dr ASM Nazrul Islam.The meeting also approved BUET’s revised budget of Tk 85.97 crore for the last fiscal.
Of the total budget, BUET will get Tk 83.75 crore from the government while Tk 6.10 crore will be earned from the university’s internal income.
The university budget projected a deficit of Tk 1,48,50,000.
The maximum share of the budget Tk 55.85 crore will be sent for salary while Tk 10.50 crore will be spent for pensions.
Tk 10.91 crore is sanctioned for general expenditure and Tk 9.09 crore for academic costs.
Of the remaining expenditure, Tk 2.38 crore is for construction, repair and rehabilitation while Tk 1.90 crore for resource mobilisation.
