Chess players IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar and GM Niaz Murshed could only finish 18th and 19th respectively in the men’s individual event of the 4th Asian Indoor & Martial
Arts Games held in Incheon, South Korea on Wednesday.
Sagar and Niaz earned four points each from seven games. In the seventh and final round, Sagar drew with Mongolian GM Bayarsaikhan Gundavaa and Niaz drew with Syrian FM Mohamed Samir.
In the women’s individual section, WIM Shamima Akter Liza finished 19th with four points, while her team-mate WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin finished 26th with 3.5 points.
