Bangladesh defeated Thailand by 3.5-0.5 points in the 2nd round of the Mixed Team Rapid Chess of the 4th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games held in South Korean city Incheon on Thursday.
After the day’s 1st and 2nd round matches, Bangladesh earned 2 match points.
In the day’s 2nd round, IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar beat Thanarotrung Ratchaphon, WIM Shamima Akter Liza defeated WCM Atthaworadej Worasuda, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin beat Thanarotrung Natkritta while GM Niaz Murshed drew with Kulpruethanon Thanadon.
Earlier,in the day’s 1st round matches, Bangladesh lost to top seed China 1-3 with only WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin winning against WGM Guo Qi of China.
In the other first round matches, GM Niaz Murshed lost to GM Yu Yangyi; IM Sagar lost to GM Xiu Deshun while WIM Liza lost to GM Hou Yifan of China.
