Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation on Friday was awarded the national award by Nawab Bahadur Syed Ali-Hasan Ali Foundation in recognition of its significant
contribution to tourism at Dhaka University Senate Building.
The foundation president, Akbar Uddin Ahmed, handed over the award to the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation chairman Md Maksudul Hasan Khan.
Maksudul said it was possible to achieve such a great honour as all the officials worked hard to increase the glory of the organisation.
He expressed his gratefulness to the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation officials and called on them to keep up the success of the organisation.
He added that the corporation played a vital role in developing Bangladeshi tourism industry and had been working for increasing the quality of its service since the independence.
Dhaka University vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique was also present at the ceremony.
Nawab Bahadur Syed Ali-Hasan Ali Foundation gives the award in nine fields — tourism, banking and finance, education, freedom fighter, Sports, ICT, journalism and poverty eradication.
