Police recovered the slaughtered body of a madrasah student in Sadar upazila on Friday, seven days after he had gone missing. The deceased was identified as Azad, 13, son of Mukar Ali of Barotala village in the upazila. Sub-Inspector Emdad Hossain of Sadar Police Station said Azad, who used to drive Nosimon (locally made vehicle) alongside his study, went missing on June 28 after he had gone to Magura from the district town with his vehicle on hire.
Locals saw his slaughtered body lying in the area around 9am today and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that miscreants killed Azad to snatch his vehicle.
