Chittagong Stock Exchange president Al Maruf Khan has been elected the chairman of South Asian Federation of Exchanges for the next two years.
Maruf was elected the chairman in an executive board meeting of SAFE at Mumbai,
India on Friday, a CSE release said on Sunday.The SAFE is a recognised body of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation that was formed with the initiative of CSE in 2000 with a view to increasing regional cooperation among the stock exchanges, said the release.
The SAFE has 34 member entities from different stock exchanges, commodity exchanges, clearing houses from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka as well as representative bourses from Mauritius, the UAE and Kazakhstan, the CSE release mentioned.
