The three-day Bangladesh Furniture and Interior Decor Expo will start in Dhaka tomorrow to showcase local furniture, jute and craft-based home
furnishing products to the national and international buyers.
The fair will be organised by EPB, Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association, Bangladesh Handicrafts Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Bangladesh Jute Diversified Products Manufactures and Exporters Association and Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association in collaboration with Jute Diversification Promotion Centre.
Export Promotion Bureau vice-president Shubhashish Bose at a press conference at the EPB conference room on Tuesday said that they were going to organise the second Furniture and Interior Decor Expo to promote export of the products as the sector was producing price competitive and world-class products.
Commerce minister GM Quader is expected to inaugurate the fair as chief guest at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
A total of 50 local makers and exporters of wood, board, plastic, metal and cane-based furniture, jute and craft-based home furnishing products and specialised textile will take part in the exposition.
The exposition will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
EPB director general Salahuddin Mahmud, JDPC executive director Khandaker Mokhlesur Rahman, BJDPMEA president Shahedul Islam, BFIOA president Salim H Rahman and BFEA president KM Akhtaruzzaman attended the briefing.
