Two people were killed in two accidents in the capital on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Alauddin Alal, 60, a rickshaw puller, from Tarakanda of Mymensingh, and Abdul Kader, 28, a cotton mill worker and son of Ismail Miah, from Nagarpur of Tangail.
Witnesses said Alal was crushed under a bus in the capital’s Bijoynagar area when he was going to Paltan from Bijoynagar, carrying two passengers in his rickshaw.
As they reached Bijoynagar water tank area, a bus hit them from back around 8:30am on Wednesday.
Among them, Alal was crushed under the speedy bus.
Police arrested the driver Jasim Uddin.
Meanwhile, Abdul Kader, worker of a North Bengal Cotton Mills at Shangkar in Dhanmondi-15, was electrocuted while working in the mill in the morning.
Kader was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at about 9:30am where duty doctor declared him dead.
