HUMAYUN AHMED’S DEATH ANNIV
4-day channel-i special programme begins today
Channel-i has organised a four-day special programme marking the first death anniversary of the late writer-playwright Humayun Ahmed, who died on July 19 last year while undergoing treatment in New York, USA.
Films and telefilms written and directed by Ahmed will be screened for four days starting today. Songs penned by Ahmed and teleplays directed by other makers will also be screened.Telefilm Jodi Bhalo Na Lage To Diona Mon, based on Ahmed’s last screenplay will be aired at 12.05pm today. Raihan Khan has directed the telefilm in which model Nobel, Zenin and Purnima have enacted the main characters.
Ahmed’s famous feature film Dui Duari will be aired at 2.40pm. At 11.30pm, a special music show of songs penned by Ahmed will be aired. Prominent singers Subir Nandi and Bari Siddiqui will present the songs at the programme.
On the death anniversary of Humayun Ahmed tomorrow, the channel has scheduled several programmes to commemorate the late writer.
At 7.30am, a programme titled Gaane Gaane Sokal Shuru consisting of songs and recitations will be aired where SI Tutul and Jayanto Chattapadhhay will present songs and poems respectively. At 9.30pm, a special Tritio Matra (talk show) will be aired featuring talks on Ahmed.
At 1.05pm, a special Ebong Cinemar Gaan will be aired featuring songs from films directed by Ahmed. At 2.40pm, a special telefilm Neemphul based on Ahmed’s screenplay, and directed by Meher Afroz Shaon will be aired. Chanchal Chowdhury has enacted the main character.
At 11.30pm, a special talk show Je Adhar Alor Odhik will air speeches by Imdadul Haque Milon, Anisul Haque and Jewel Aich on Ahmed.
On July 20, Humayun Ahmed’s famous film Srabon Megher Din will be aired at 1.05pm.
On the last day of the four-day programme, a music show Ghore Ghore Gaaner Utsab that has been dedicated to Humayun Ahmed will be aired.
