The government has threatened legal action against Yunus Center if it did not withdraw the statement over a ‘remark’ by Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement to this end signed by the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad on Thursday, a day after issuance of the statement by the Yunus Center. The statement also alleged the Yunus Center tried to humiliate the head of the government by issuing the statement based on unconfirmed news. ”Under the circumstances, the government hopes the Yunus Center will withdraw the statement run in the Daily Star and Daily Ittefaq and stay away from such motivated falsehood in the future,” it added.
”Otherwise, the government will have no other option than to take legal action against such propaganda by the Yunus Center,” it said.
