Indian Border Security Force once again shot dead a Bangladeshi at Narayanjot-Panditpara border in Panchagarah district early on Friday.
The latest killing took place when Bangladesh-India joint working group was holding meeting in New Delhi to discuss border killings,mutual security and other bilateral issues, officials said.
The deceased, Jahangir Alam, 31, son of Samiul Haque from Natunbandar village of Harivasa union, was found dead near the Basin of Jamuna River inside Bangladesh.
The local people said a farmer found the bullet-riddled body of Jahangir and informed the Border Guard Bangladesh authorities.
Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said police recovered the body and sent it to Panchagarah General Hospital for autopsy.
Lt Colonel Abu Bashir, the commanding officer of 18 Border Guard Battalion in Panchagarah, said BSF personnel of Jhakua camp opened fire at Jahangir when he was returning from India, leaving him dead on the spot.
After killing, the BSF personnel threw the body on bordering Jamuna River.
A flag meeting was held on Friday afternoon where BGB strongly condemned the killing.
A total of 214 Bangladeshi people were killed at the border by BSF and some 323 others injured between January 2009 and May 2013, according to BGB.
